Velvet just went Eco-friendly!

Not only does the Handmade Sofa Company try to source structural materials from renewable sources wherever possible but we can now supply a gorgeous organic bamboo pile, called Taishan, from Malabar which will look magnificent on a chaise longue.
The velvet is made from Bamboo fibre and is eco-friendly with no chemical additives. The bamboo is grown without pesticides while the production process is pollution-free. To top things off, it is also 100% biodegradable – although this does take a little time!
Some observers believe that bamboo is “the natural, green and eco-friendly new type textile material of the 21st Century.”
Taishan retails at £37.50/metre and is suitable for domestic upholstery. It is available in 35 striking colours so please let us know if you would a cutting.
